Xyl, it has zoom support, extenstion, and it is chrome-built. The Zoom meeting feature or the possibility to meet instantly are both available in Edge. Zoom for Microsoft Edge can be downloaded and installed. Then select How to Schedule a Meeting when clicking the extension.

Log in to your Google account, select the option. You will then be able to select the meeting options on the next screen. The Zoom Cloud Meetings App can be downloaded by searching for the app store. The app will now automatically open for the meeting once you click the link.

On the Join a meeting page, choose the Not Registering option if you want more information about the meeting. The web client is best suited for use on Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Chromium Edge, since it offers only a few features and functions. I don't think you can "get the app" - Zoom is not an application not at this writing, at least. And, you are correct - Windows in "S" mode is limited - you can only install software from the Store.
